He obtained his M.sc from north Orissa university, Baripada with a project on “diversity, status and socio-economic importance of Ichthyofauna” at Panchupada river mouth of Odisha and got 139 fish species with 03 new records of Odisha check list under the supervision of Zoological Survey of India, EBRC Odisha. Did his internship at wildlife institute of India in the project “augmentation and recovery of tiger population in Satakoshia Tiger reserve, Odisha”.

Swaroop’s past and ongoing collaboration projects include studies of “to mitigate human smooth coated otter conflict, conservation of striped hyenas by addressing conflicts, save the Ridleys in the Puri district, feeding stray animals during covid-19 etc. His research paper has been widely published in many journals/books.

He has a very good technical skill on radio telemetry (radio tracking in tigers), camera trapping, line transact sampling, sample collection, sign survey analysis, GIS, GPS use and mapping technologies and animal rescues.

He is an award-winning photographer and his photographs are celebration of India’s fascinating mysteries of wilderness.
