For the last few years, Jungle Lore Foundation is doing great work that ensures the safety and wellness of all wildlife, either big or small. Considering the importance and risk, we have beenwith other caretaking government agencies like Forest Department, Veterinary units to safeguard those vulnerable wild animals. We have also engaged in forest fringe communities through awareness, helpline desks, motivating local rescuers to follow the ethics of wildlife rescues.

We need different approaches, different handling techniques, different managerial point for different wildlife species and equally same for different rehabilitations. Both human habitations and protected areas suffer a lot and urgently need to address the issues like wildlife health, injury, diseases, accidents, orphan animal movement etc. So, there is a need of human intervention including medical treatment, husbandry care, driving back to natural environment in a proper coordinated manner.

Forest Department is the front runner of every rescue operation and for executing said operations, we always need their presence. Apart from Forest Department, our team includes veterinarians, wildlife handlers, biologists, local influential persons and if required, local administration too.

Within rescue, rehab, release, we always focus on research activities because post release failures are very common on mammals. All our efforts such as better preparation, best handling, maximizing contributions going wrong because of behavioral issues might arise as a primary concern.

Above all, for future conservation plans, making more awareness among masses, proper documentation, keeping proper database is equally essential for the sake of wildlife.

Goals

  • Become a bridge between local inhabitants and government during human-wildlife conflicts.
  • Help study and address the conflict and casualties during human-wildlife conflict.
  • To develop empathy among locals towards wildlife.

Impacts

  • Above 1000 wild species successfully rescued and released in wild.
  • Nearly 100 forest fringed villages reached.
  • Above 10 beneficiaries assisted.
