Ashis Kumar Das

He is a passionate naturalist with a special interest Herpetofauna, sea turtle ecology, biodiversity monitoring and assessment, wildlife ecology assessment and conservation and field ecology distribution and natural history. He is pursuing his P.H. D in environmental studies from Berhampur university and obtained M.sc in biodiversity and conservation of natural resources from central university, Koraput.

Worked as a junior project fellow at zoological survey of India in the project “Inter nesting movements and Habitat use of Olive Ridley sea turtles along Odisha coast” under science and engineering research board. Also worked as a junior research fellow, Odisha biodiversity board in the project entitled “inventory of biodiversity of Debrigarh Wildlife sanctuary, Odisha”. During M.sc dissertation work had documented the herpetofauna diversity in Gupteswar RF, Koraput.

Within a short period, he attended numbers of national seminars with oral and poster presentations.

He harbors his deep interest in understanding the key issues species are facing and his research papers reflects the findings that are helping to make strategies for future conservation.

He is a young naturalist with a biological flavor, excellent organizational skill, expertise in rescue and releases of snakes, Herping, photography and much more.
